Extend Coverage Sprinkler
Extended coverage (EC) fire sprinklers do what the name says: provide more extensive coverage, typically allowing system designers to place fewer sprinklers in a given area. And with this capability, the sprinkler head spacing distance rules change.
Designers and installers must maintain certain minimum distances because putting sprinklers too close together is redundant and can impair effectiveness, as can placing them too far away. If a section of the wall needs to get wet to deprive a fire of its fuel source, for example, a faraway sprinkler will enable a blaze to spread and reduce valuable time to escape.

Features
Standard Upright Fire Sprinkler Head is one of the most common types in automatic sprinkler systems, primarily used to protect conventional areas in buildings (such as offices, shopping malls, warehouses, etc.). Below are its key features:
1.Installation Method & Structural Design: Installed vertically, with a splash plate fixed approximately 15–30mm below the nozzle to disperse water flow into a uniform pattern.
2.Working Principle & Water Flow Characteristics: Activates when ambient temperature reaches the sprinkler’s nominal operating temperature (common ratings: 57°C, 68°C, 79°C, 93°C, etc.). Triggering occurs via:
-Glass bulb: Liquid inside expands and bursts at the rated temperature.
-Fusible alloy: Low-melting-point metal alloy melts to release the sprinkler.
Once activated, water flows downward from the nozzle, strikes the splash plate, and generates a combined coverage pattern: a vertical downward jet plus horizontal diffusion. This forms a spherical or hemispherical water mist/jet envelope in the protected space.
3.Key Performance Traits: Uses a standard response design (RTI ≈ 80–350 m·s⁰·⁵), balancing sensitivity and reliability—ideal for most conventional fires. This differentiates it from fast-response sprinklers (shorter RTI) optimized for rapid activation in high-hazard areas.
4.Material & Durability: Constructed from copper alloys (e.g., brass) or stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance. Suitable for humid or mildly corrosive environments (e.g., basements, kitchen vicinities).
5.Application Adaptability: Widely deployed in commercial (malls, hotels), institutional (offices, hospitals, schools), and light-to-medium hazard storage (non-high-piled warehouses). Best for ordinary ceiling heights (≤12m), especially where suspended ceilings are absent or high (unlike pendant sprinklers, which rely on ceiling mounting).
