Dry Sprinkler Head Product Description

The heat generated by the fire causes the temperature-sensing element (glass ball) to act. After the glass ball breaks, the supporting force for the sealing component disappears. At this point, the water pressure in the rear pipe will push the sealing component to fall off, opening the waterway. Water flows into the nozzle cavity and is sprayed out through the splash pan to extinguish the fire.

It features a heat-sensitive element (glass bulb or fusible link) that restrains the pressurized air/nitrogen in the sprinkler pipe. When a fire raises ambient temperature to a threshold, the element shatters/melts—releasing the gas and letting water flow into the system.

Widely used in unheated spaces (warehouses, parking garages, attics, outdoor structures) where temperatures drop below freezing, they’re also applied in cold-climate regions with high frozen pipe risk.
