Core of Industrial Flammable Liquid Fire Suppression: Bladder Foam Tank Selection & Application Consultation
A bladder foam tank is a high-efficiency fire-fighting equipment specially designed for the prevention and control of flammable liquid fires. Through a stable foam concentrate and water mixing mechanism, it generates foam with high fire-extinguishing efficiency. It is widely used in high-risk scenarios such as petrochemical industry, oil depots, and docks, and is one of the core components of industrial-grade fire-fighting systems.

1. Core Structure
- Tank Body: Pressure-bearing vessel made of carbon steel, usually coated with RAL3000 red paint. It not only meets the eye-catching identification requirements of fire-fighting equipment but also provides certain corrosion resistance. Available in vertical and horizontal installation types; large-capacity products (usually over 3 tons) mostly adopt horizontal structure for better stability and easier installation.
- Core Components: Built-in bladder made of rubber or elastomer, the key part that physically separates foam concentrate from water. Equipped with auxiliary components such as proportioner, valves, pressure gauge and pipelines for controlling foam concentrate delivery and mixing ratio.
- Capacity & Pressure: Capacity ranges from several hundred liters to 15,000 liters; working pressure is typically 12 bar (175 psi), and some models can reach 16 bar (232 psi).
2. Working Principle
- After the system is activated, high-pressure water flows through the proportioner, and 3%-6% of the high-pressure water enters the tank through the water inlet pipe.
- The incoming water squeezes the internal bladder, forcing the foam concentrate stored in the bladder to be extruded and delivered to the proportioner through the liquid outlet pipe.
- The foam concentrate mixes with the remaining 94%-97% of water at a fixed ratio in the proportioner to form foam mixture, which is then transported to foam guns, foam cannons and other equipment to generate foam with air for fire extinguishing.
3. Core Advantages
- Stable Foam Concentrate Quality: The bladder completely isolates foam concentrate from water. Even if there is remaining foam concentrate after fire extinguishing, it will not deteriorate due to mixing with water and can be retained for next use, avoiding waste.
- Stable Mixing Ratio: It can automatically adapt to changes in flow and pressure during fire extinguishing, maintaining a stable mixing ratio of water and foam concentrate to ensure fire extinguishing effect.
- Wide Application Range: Low pressure loss, compatible with medium and low expansion foam fire extinguishing systems, suitable for various complex fire extinguishing scenarios.

Suggestions for Model Selection
| Type of Scenario | Recommended Configuration |
| Small Oil Depots (<5,000 m²) | Horizontal tank (500 L), CR bladder, 3% mixing ratio |
| Main Equipment Areas of Petrochemical Plants | Horizontal tank (3,000 L), EPDM bladder, 6% mixing ratio |
| High-Corrosion Environments (e.g., coastal terminals) | Tank made of 316 stainless steel, EPDM bladder |
Application scenarios
Petrochemical industry: Fire extinguishing in reactor and storage tank areas of oil refineries and chemical plants
Energy storage: Fire prevention and control in gasoline/diesel oil depots and LNG refueling stations
Transportation hubs: Oil tanker loading and unloading areas at port terminals and fuel depots at airports
Special scenarios: Underground garage (electric vehicle fire prevention and control), power plant fuel oil boiler area
